MCS Fellowship Gathering

There were about 16 people who attended the fragrance free fellowship gathering on April 27, 2004, including Pastor

Merlyn Linden, an associate pastor from Calvary Chapel Eastside. Beth Meissner and Pastor Merlyn led worship; we then

had a break for snacks. Two healthy ladies from Calvary Chapel Eastside generously offered to bake banana bread and

pumpkin bread with cream cheese for our gathering.  The group was very touched by their kindness. Judy Stephenson

brought assorted cheeses; we also had a veggie tray and herbal ice tea.

Beth Meissner performed a solo called "Yet I Will Praise You" that she had sung recently to a friend battling cancer.  It was a very powerful song. The words can be found at:

After the solo, Janine Ridings did a teaching on healing. She talked about how to pray for healing and how not to pray for healing. She also talked about a few of the common false teachings that are prevalent today in regard to healing.  In addition, Janine talked about what our perspective should be if we pray for healing but are not healed, and how we can find value in our suffering. She gave a brief testimony of how God has refined her spiritually through her illness.

After the meeting, Pastor Merlyn anointed a couple of people with fragrance free olive oil and prayed for healing for them.  Overall, the Lord really blessed the time.  Praise His name!
